Title: Strapped (Strapped Series) Released: 8/1/2013 Genre: Erotica/Suspense
Synopsis:
By all appearances, Shyla Ball has an enviable life: a loyal boyfriend, a great job, and family that loves her. She doesn't realize how deeply unsatisfied she is until she has an embarrassing encounter with a handsome stranger at a coffee shop. Taylor Holden, a successful businessman, takes a sudden special interest in her and offers her a job she cannot refuse. Soon after, she learns there is much more to this intensely private man than meets the eye. He is hiding many painful secrets, including why it is that he has seemingly plucked her out of obscurity for such a lucrative position. Her "perfect" world is turned upside down by her infatuation towards Taylor and in just a couple of months, her life looks nothing like it did before. While she is frightened by the changes she sees in herself, she cannot resist the lure of Taylor Holden. As Shyla slowly gains Taylor's trust, she learns of his complex history and how it has molded him into the person he has become. When elements of Taylor's secret past resurface and threaten to destroy them, Shyla finds out there may be more to Taylor's story than even he is aware of. Strapped is a story of passion, manipulation, obsession, and family secrets.

Excerpt:
“The click of the seat belt securing into the buckle is the only sound to break the awkward silence. I feel his warm breath on my neck as he reaches and I take a deep nervous inhale. His scent fills my nose, it is clean and warm, just like in the coffee shop. The smell of his skin is delicious. I try to stop these thoughts, but they are invading my brain in a way that has never happened to me before. Not even with...Rick. I try push him back out of my mind at this moment because I feel a sense of guilt. Rick and I are frozen. That’s the only way I can describe us. He is faithful, he is steady, he is nice, but he is not like this man in front of me: new, mysterious, and unpredictable. Rick and I are in a state of comfort, but like much of my life, I am becoming more and more discontent with comfort.”
MY REVIEW:
5 *WINK* READ
ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME?!?! I LOVED THIS BOOK!
There is so much I can say. Seriously I am speechless and totally one clicked Strapped Down immediately. I was hanging onto the chemistry, the mystery, the drama and I am still in Nina G Jones world!
Shlya, a girl who grew up struggling for what she had but was in a place of normalcy, has a run in with Taylor Holden. He is charming, sexy and more! I was hooked from their first meeting in the coffee shop. I could totally imagine myself spilling coffee all over a complete, yet handsome, stranger and rushing to leave from embarrassment. Shyla is cute, naïve, but at the same time she seems to have a bit of an independent streak in her that I like. Almost as if there is something more to her. Just like there is something more to Taylor.
It was interesting how the author tied in day to day emotional health issues into this book. Myself, who suffer from anxiety, could relate to the struggle the characters had with social situations and day to day life. It immediately made me have a connection to the book. I think even though Taylor is a successful business man, with more money than he knows what to do with, that he too can be like anyone else. Messed up!
I did feel a 50 shades resemblance to this book but I LOVED IT! I didn't feel like it was a knock off, but there are some similarities that I think readers will notice it. What Nina brings is a realness to it. The emotional turmoil within Taylor and Shyla is very evident and she does not hide or hint to what happened in the past with either of them. She slaps you right in the face with it. This again made me connect more with this book and had me hanging onto every word.
I seriously read this book in one sitting! Could not put it down and had to know what the hell was going on? What was the secrets being left untold? Why the hell would anyone do such things? I really can't say too much cause I feel I will be giving things away. There are some major key points that just make the story fall into place perfectly and the ending will leave you with a *gasp*!

Author Bio:
Nina G. Jones was born and raised in Bronx, NY and currently resides in Milwaukee, WI with her husband and two crazy Boxers.
She is the author of the Strapped series, and is currently working on a novella, Gorgeous Rotten Scoundrel, slated to be released in Spring 2014.
Nina lives a pretty wholesome life, but is fascinated with the dark side of things. She loves watching true crime TV shows and it creeps her husband out to no end. Nina has a degree in Psychology and uses her characters as a vehicle to explore the human psyche.
She also totally gets it if you want to throw your Kindle at her when you reach the end of Strapped, but let her know so she has a chance to duck.
